وفرض البديل الألماني إيلكاي غندوغان نفسه نجماً للمباراة بتسجيله هدفين من أصل ثلاثة لفريقه في الدقيقتين 76 و81 بعد دخوله بديلاً في الدقيقة 69، في حين سجل الإسباني رودري الثاني (78).

وحسم مانشستر سيتي اللقب بفارق نقطة واحدة عن ليفربول (93 مقابل 92) الذي حقق فوزاً متأخراً بدوره على ولفرهامبتون 3-1.
